7:00 p.m. 13 June 2013
The Expo 2015 will create great opportunities for discussing how research and innovation policies impact onthe food systems in Europe as well as in the rest of the world. It will provide an unique chance for an open and forward exchange with the citizens/consumers on the future policy developments geared around Europe 2020 strategy.
Thus, the EU regulations have radically modified the “food law” improving the safety in the food chainand the transparency for consumers. Most of the EU policies are based on scientific rationales, which allowreducing food risk and increasing consumer awareness.
Although the EU has substantially funded with its Framework Programmes research for sustainable innovation in the European food systems for improved nutrition and life style, consumer perception on these new approaches will only benefit from a more informed and participated discussions. During this event, through a conversation with Mr. Di Giulio and Mr. Lombardi, we wish to share knowledge andinformation on what is at stake in the consumer’s science.
